What do you want in the first 100 Days?
Last week, the American people elected Senator Barack Obama the next president, and the nation's first African American president. The Center for Constitutional Rights, born out of the Civil Rights movement in 1966, recognizes this moment as historic. It is clear that the nation is ready for change: to be a society known not for torture and abuse, unjust war, arbitrary detention and overreaching executive power, but for its respect for human rights.
Now, more than ever, it is the time to press forward and insist that President-Elect Obama makes restoring the Constitution - and undoing the vast damage done to it - a priority in his first 100 days in the White House. Make your voice heard-join the Center for Constitutional Rights' 100 Days campaign and produce your own "60-Second Soapbox," a short video that tells the next administration what you think should happen in the first 100 days in the White House. The best 100 videos will be featured on our website in 2009.
Join the 100 Days campaign and send in your self-produced video - check out an instructional video by renowned producer and documentarian Sabrina Gordon to get an idea of what the 60-Second Soapboxes are all about.
Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to making the world a more just place as we move forward together.
Yours truly,
Annette Warren Dickerson
P.S. I'm raising $1000 to support CCR and their First 100 Days Campaign. If you want to express yourself on these issues, I will video your "60-second soap-box" video for a $10 donation to CCR, and then upload it for your submission. Call 619-206-4361 or email ME.
